Buchanan Hauling and Rigging’s history goes back to its June 1996 founding. Geary Buchanan, who was an owner-operator with 24 years of experience in the trucking industry, decided he’d strike out on his own and start up his own trucking company. At the time, he had just one truck, two trailers and a whole lot of ideas for how he’d work hard to provide the highest quality transportation service possible at a fair market rate. His goals were to build strong relationships that would last for years, and ultimately be able to provide more high-quality jobs to drivers and owner-operators like him.
There was no business plan—just hard work and dedication. And it turns out that goes a long way. Since the beginning, the company has experienced double-digit growth each year, but has still managed to maintain a focus on doing high-quality work and putting the customer first at all times. Buchanan is constantly taking suggestions from customers and vendors and implementing them in their everyday work, as they constantly focus on trying to improve their services.
Services
At first, Buchanan only offered flatbed, open-deck transportation services. However, the company quickly expanded its service range to also offer expedited flatbed services and heavy-haul market services, with multiple axle trailers that are capable of hauling oversize and overweight cargo. With increasing customer demand, the fleet grew to include a van and enclosed trailer fleet, as well as a large selection of curtainsides and drop decks.
Eventually, Buchanan Hauling expanded into a full-service logistics company, which is now capable of handling all types of projects and commodities, taking its work throughout North America. The company’s logistics team has a wealth of knowledge, expertise, technology and contacts in the industry that make shipments of any frequency or size possible, anywhere you need to send them in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
The company has even added a hazmat division called Buchanan Specialized.
