At Osage Specialized Transport, we focus on filling the need for heavy moving services in South Dakota, the rest of the United States, and Canada. We were founded as an independent carrier in 1995 under the name of Native Sons Transportation. In 2001, as covered on page 10 of this report by Pipeline Jobs, we became an agent-organized trucking company. The new setup saw us working with bigger carriers, who in turn employ owner/operators. As the company’s nature shifted, the name changed to reflect its new plans.

Since then, we have become an agent for Dallas Mavis Specialized Carriers and Buchanan Hauling and Rigging. We also are a top-five agent for Greentree Transportation, Midwest Specialized Transport, and Greatwide. Over time, the company switched from being asset-based to a non-asset-based agent.

Osage Specialized Transport Inc. is an agent-organized trucking company which specializes in working with large carriers who employ owner-operators of long-haul trucks. Originally founded in 1995 as Native Sons Transportation, the company transitioned from an asset-based company to a non-asset based company in 2001, when it also changed the company name. This gave the company an opportunity to experience considerable growth, and it also favored the owner-operators, who could then become independent business owners.

At present, the company specializes in hauling for the pipeline industry, concentrating on high-pressure gas equipment. Many of this country’s biggest corporations are clients of ours, for instance John Deere, Hitachi, Komatsu, Volvo, Caterpillar, and Link-belt. In addition to shipping loads all throughout the United States, the company also makes regular trips to Mexico and into Canada to service the pipeline industry.

We focus on providing three broad service types to South Dakota and the rest of our coverage area. Those service types are specialty hauling, oversized load transporting, and logistics and shipment management.

SPECIALIZED TRANSPORT & HAULING SERVICES

Our equipment for specialty shipping includes step deck trailers, step deck stretch trailers, flatbed trailers, and flatbed stretch trailers. WHO IS OSAGE SPECIALIZED TRANSPORT?

At Osage Specialized Transport, we have a long history. We started in the heavy hauling industry as Native Sons Transportation in 1995. As an independent carrier, we decided that it was important to expand – and in 2001, we became an agent to work with larger carriers. As we changed our structure to adapt to the new business, Osage Specialized Transport was born.
Our philosophy has stayed the same since the very beginning. We are here to work for both the customers and the drivers. We also have a 50/50 partnership with Alvin Chowning and Gineva McKinney. Their combined 75 years of experience guide us in providing the highest level of services for transportation, operations, and safety.

We take a ground-level approach to be involved in all the processes. We help with everything from loading and unloading at the job sites to requiring proof of delivery. We have an impressive fleet of drivers that are familiar with the equipment and commodities that are being hauled.

We work primarily with the pipeline industry. We understand the need for expedited services, and it is one of the reasons why we have our own internal dispatch program. Osage Specialized Transport has grown from an independent carrier for heavy hauling services founded in 1995. Since 2001 it’s been a non-asset based agent organized trucking company, as we allow operators to grow independently. Our philosophy is to serve both customers and drivers. The combined experience of our team spans a wide range of industries that require heavy hauling services. We can move a 60-foot tee, but our main focus has been serving the pipeline industry. We’ve been involved with all phases of the moving process, including loading and unloading at job sites.

One of our specialties that has benefited customers and drivers includes an internal dispatch program for tracking loads thoroughly and accurately. We’re able to track every machine we move every step of the way to delivery locations, which has ensured pipeline parts arrive on time at proper locations. Another specialty we emphasize is customer relations, working closely with job sites.

We further specialize in moving high-pressure gas equipment, but we also serve construction companies throughout the United States. Sometimes we deliver equipment to Canada and Mexico as well. Some of our major pipeline projects have included the Rex Line, Ruby Pipeline, the first Keystone line, the North Dakota Access and the Rover Pipeline.

Our office is based in Colorado, but we are able to manage fleets nationwide. We routinely oversee a fleet of 40 to 50 trucks, but we’re able to scale up for the pipeline industry when demand rises. Serving drivers is a significant part of our operation, as we keep their billing paperwork in order. We further emphasize maintaining a dedicated fleet that moves equipment safely and efficiently.

Osage Specialized Transport was founded in January 1995, providing heavy hauling services. In October 2001 we shifted from an asset-based firm to a non-asset agent-organized trucking company. Our philosophy is to work for customers and drivers. Ownership is a 50/50 partnership between Alvin Chowning and Gineva McKinney. Some of the major companies we have worked for include John Deere, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo and many more.

WHAT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DO WE EXCEL IN?

Most of our work is for the pipeline industry with an emphasis on specialty high-pressure gas equipment. We use an internal dispatch program that documents all loads, allowing us to track every move of every machine. It helps keep machine parts and delivery locations in order so that each worksite is well equipped to complete projects in a timely manner.

With a focus on the pipeline industry, Osage has worked closely on moving projects for the Rex, Ruby, Keystone, and Rover pipelines. We work with various carriers in maintaining our national fleet of 40 to 50 trucks that are capable of oversize/overweight loads. We occupy storage space in specific areas for better tracking and efficiency.

Our services cover all phases of transportation using heavy haul equipment for movement in the pipeline and construction industries.
